QRS provides Terminal Operations for Coal Fueled Power Plants that provide greater efficiency and equipment utilization. By processing the entire train at the Power Plant facility, we enable it to resume service more quickly – significantly reducing cycle time and making your expensive rail assets more profitable. Our engineers are certified by the railroad and will operate the train while on Power Plant property, delivering responsive fueling, inspection and repair services coupled with lower costs to you.

Train Delivery operations
QRS certified rail engineers operate the train on Power Plant property. In addition to final delivery of the load to the plant, our multi-purpose crew performs other critical inspection and servicing tasks on-site, significantly reducing the time your train is out of operation. QRS Power Plant crews allow more effective use of time resulting in more cost effective solutions for you.

Car inspections
Complete FRA 1000 mile inspections are supplemented by roll-by inspections for high-use trains. These preventative maintenance programs identify and, if necessary, spot fix rail car equipment failure. QRS roll-by inspections significantly reduce the likelihood of major equipment outages and derailments.

QRS has built an extensive knowledge of FRA issues and requirements. We know what problems may arise if minor equipment defects with bearings, brakes and wheels are not repaired. We keep your trains moving – efficiently and profitably.

Locomotive Inspections
As a component of the overall Utility Plant Services, QRS provides the FRA required daily locomotive inspection. The inspections are carried out by the QRS crew and ensure the train's readiness for service.
